Daddy Yankee’s “Mundial” reached #1

Daddy Yankee’s new release, “Mundial” reached #1 in its first week of sales. Also only after week one and after two years of anticipation, “Mundial” came in at #1 on Latin Album and Latin Rhythm Album on Billboard Magazine’s charts.

Daddy Yankee’s sales have has incredible support from digital sales on iTunes and where he debuted at #1 on his first day of sales. The record, produced by “El Musicólogo y Menes” better known as “Los de la Naza”, is a blend of very rich multi- cultural influences from Yankee’s day to day life and his many travels from touring around the globe. These influences are what has made Mundial so distinguished in the Latin, Latin HipHop, Urban and Worldwide Music Reggae genres in digital sales. Daddy Yankee’s interpretative talent and lyrical swagger are a true reflection of the artist’s maturity and complexity.

Mundial consists of 13 socially themed tracks in which Yankee sings about romance, steamy nights out dancing and worldwide celebration. “Grito Mundial” and “Descontrol” were big hits that preceded the album’s highly anticipated release. Daddy Yankee is currently on the east coast leg of his cross country promotional tour for “Mundial” doing in store signing, radio and TV appearances. His first in store in the Bronx, NY was a huge success with almost 1,000 fans in attendance at FYE store to meet and greet their idol. Daddy Yankee will be in Boston today followed by stops in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Orlando and Miami. Yankee will head west next week as he continues his “Mundial” promotional tour.
