Daddy Yankee to release “Talento de Barrio” about his own life growing up.

Daddy Yankee is to put out another album soon with the title track called “Pose.” The single is to be the first song from the soundtrack to his upcoming film, Talento de Barrio.

In March, another single was released called “Somos Calle,” but not on radio. The track was only available online as well as on video channel. On the other hand, “Pose” is much more a pop/dance track than his usual reggaeton that has gained power on the radio nationwide, according to Reuters.

The artist says that the new album, Talento de Barrio, is going to be a departure from what he normally does and will have a wide range of styles. There are also collaborations with other artists such as Puerto Rican act Tempo and Arcangel, says Reuters.

The album is to be released on July 15 from El Carel Records, his label, and the newest CD is to be the first one without any English-language tracks, and won’t be released under the partnership banner of Interscope records. The film is to be released independently and is based on Yankee’s life growing up in San Juan, Puerto Rico neighborhoods.
