Caribbean Fest in St. Pete

This year's Tampa Bay Caribbean Festival features big-name entertainment including Shaggy, Daddy Yankee and Alison Hinds.
The headliners stress the diversity of the region's music, with Shaggy representing reggae, Daddy Yankee performing reggaeton as well as Hinds, who is known as "The Queen of Soca."
The two-day event also will feature a steel drum competition, a parade, a costume contest and vendors selling Caribbean food.
The festival begins at noon Saturday June 12 at Vinoy Park, between Fifth and Seventh avenues Northeast at the Bay in St. Petersburg.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the gate.
Gates open at noon Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Kings and Queens Costume Contest takes place at 3 p.m. Saturday while the parade begins at 1 p.m. Sunday.
