DADDY YANKEE NABS THREE GRAMMY NOMINATIONS FOR THE 11th ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS


The singer is nominated for Best Urban Album and twice for Best Song with”Descontrol” & “Grito Mundial”
Miami, FL - September 8th, 2010- International superstar, Daddy Yankee has received three nominations for the 11th annual Latin Grammy Awards. Nominations include best urban music album, for “MUNDIAL” and two nominations for best urban song for “DESCONTROL” and “GRITO MUNDIAL”. These nominations make the veteran artist a ten time nominee. The 11th annual Latin Grammy Awards”nominations were announced this morning live from Los Angeles, CA.
“I just got the news of my nominations for the Latin Grammys,  I’m currently in Buenos Aires, Argentina on tour and this week has been a week of great news for me! Argentina has welcomed me with open arms and has been really incredible. We’re #1 on the Billboard charts with “La Despedida” and now the Grammy nominations for best album for Mundial and TWO of my songs nominated for best song “Grito Mundial” and “Descontrol”!!! I am thankful to my wonderful fans and the members of the Academy!” notes Yankee of the news.
Daddy Yankee is currently on the Latin American leg of his “Mundial” world tour and is also up for a 2010 MTV Video Music Award for “Latino Artist of the Year” and holds the #1 spot on the Latin charts for third consecutive week with his current single “La Despedida”.
“Mundial” was released on April 27th, 2010 and distributed by SONY.”MUNDIAL” brought Yankee back to his Latin roots and his influences from his travels touring the world.
The 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on the Univision Network from the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas on Nov. 11, 2010.
Daddy Yankee was named by CNN as the Most Influential Hispanic Artist of 2009, and by Time Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential in the World in May 2006. Yankee recently received awards by Billboard Magazine as Urban Latin Artist of the Decade and the Latin Album Artist of the Decade. The Puerto Rican native has broken yet another barrier for the Latin artist community and was  the first Latin Urban recording artist to guest star on CBS’ Emmy Award winning soap The Bold and the Beautiful this past June. Yankee’s newest addition to his multi faceted career is his second fragrance, this time for the ladies called, DYamante. The Caribbean inspired women’s fragrance is out in department stores nationwide.
