Daddy Yankee stars as the main character, Edgar Dinero, who is living in a slum in Puerto Rico. Edgar struggles to chose between his dangerous street life and his ambition to do something more with himself.

A native of Puerto Rico, Daddy Yankee (Ramon Ayala) is one of the headliner names in the reggaeton. He started rapping when he was 13-years-old, and now the 31-year-old is known for singles like "Gasolina" and "Lo Que Paso Paso."

Before his success in the music business, Daddy Yankee wanted to become a pro-baseball player. But at age 17, according to an August 2005 article in The Guardian, "he was caught in the crossfire of a barrio gun-battle and shot twice. [...] One bullet grazed his arm. Another, from an AK-47, hit him in the leg, ending his baseball career and leaving him with a permanent limp."
