Daddy Yankee Makes His Movie Premier

Reggaeton icon Daddy Yankee is set to debut his first motion picture film, "Talento de Barrio" Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the New York International Latino Film Festival, presented by HBO. Daddy Yankee stars as a young man growing up in the barrio and overcoming obstacles to achieve his dream of becoming a reggaeton super star. In addition to having the leading role in the film, Daddy Yankee has recorded and produced the movies soundtrack. The first single off of the album, entitled, "Pose" peaked at the #1 spot in Latin America, and is currently taking the United States by storm. Daddy Yankee is an international reggaeton star who has received many accolades for his work in the music industry and as a humanitarian. His album, "El Cartel: The Big Boss"was the top Latin selling album of 2007 and received Billboard's prestigious "Album of the Year Award," selling over one million copies world wide.
